European Heritage Days - La leggenda del cacao. Tradizioni e pratiche rituali nell’America precolombiana

The Seal Museum preserves ancient pre-Columbian pintaderas, clay molds engraved with symbols related to Aztec deities, which, sprinkled with colored pigments, were used to decorate ceramic objects and fabrics. The event will be an opportunity to tell the legend of cocoa, whose plant - received as a gift from the gods - was considered the true tree of life, thanks to the many virtues contained in its seeds. This will be followed by the creation of a clay pintadera to be used in fabric decoration.
