La Spezia Carnival 2026

On Sunday, 8 February 2026, the historic centre of La Spezia will turn into a large open-air stage for the Carnevale Spezzino 2026. A full day of celebration, tradition and fun awaits families, children and local associations, featuring costume parades, 19th-century outfits and entertainment activities.

The day will begin in the morning with the opening of the “Carnival Village” in Piazza Europa and Piazza Brin, two symbolic squares of the city that will be brought to life with food stalls, entertainment and activities dedicated to children.

To encourage participation, both squares will host stations for the distribution of numbers to masked participants. The Piazza Brin station will be organised in collaboration with local associations and the Ludoteca Civica, highlighting the strong involvement of the local community.

From 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, it will also be possible to register free of charge for the “Best Mask Award”.

In the afternoon, at 1:30 pm, all participants are required to gather in Piazza Brin. At 2:00 pm, the traditional Carnevale Spezzino parade will begin.

The procession will wind its way through the historic streets of the city centre – Corso Cavour, Via Chiodo and Piazza Verdi – before returning to Piazza Europa, accompanied by music, colours and festive cheer.
