La Spezia Carnival

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., it will be possible to register for the most beautiful mask contest free of charge. At 2:30 p.m., the parade will start from Piazza Brin and reach Piazza Verdi where the party will continue. The procession of masks will parade throughout the city and will be composed of floats and masks from every neighborhood of the city, from the various communities living there. The Carnival will also feature the participation of the three municipal nursery schools "Castello Incantato" (Due giugno), "Pratoverde" (Chiappa), and Peterpan (via di Monale) with the following themes reflecting the annual project and educational journey:  

• Theme "Our city" - Castello Incantato nursery school;
• Environmental theme "Feet on the ground and head in the clouds": discovering the earth - Pratoverde nursery school;
• Inclusion theme: "Elmer, the colorful little elephant" - Peterpan nursery school.

Families have been involved in the construction of costumes that girls and boys will wear during afternoon workshops in the presence of teachers.  

Children from the Civic Ludoteca will also participate in the parade, developing the theme "The Palio del Golfo." Costumes have been prepared during the Ludoteca's afternoon opening sessions involving the attending children.
