Biassa Castel

Pegazzano - Brampane - Biassa circular route

This circular route starts at the intersection between Via Fabio Filzi and Via Damiano Chiesa. You will take Via Damiano Chiesa and, once you have reached the school, you will find the Scalinata Vecchiora e Vignale (Vecchiora and Vignale Stairway, route 523). This stairway, crossing Via Vecchiora multiple times, will take you to 280 m above sea level where there is the Chiesa di Madonna della Guardia in the area of Vignale.

You will take a short stairway on the left side of the church, which soon becomes a trail, running behind the church and going uphill towards a place called Erbabona. Here, you will take the flat white path that will take you to the road to mount Parodi and to the final destination of the bus line in Vignale.

Keep walking on this path for about 100 meters up to a trail skirting the walls of a villa leading to a private paved road. Here, you will cross the road and take the trail into the woods. Shortly after, you will walk by a water depot (400 m above sea level), then you will walk past a cave of gold, and you will end up on Via Parodi (608 m above sea level) in front of a cell tower.

Follow the paved road, turn left, and go past the fork to Castè, placed near the ancient restaurant Paradiso (now closed), and you will reach the Bramapane pass (626 m above sea level). Here, you will get past an area called “Lo Spaccato” and turn left to take the AV5T downhill (Alta Via delle 5 Terre, or High Route of the 5 Terre) to the Colle del Telegrafo (Telegraph Hill, 513 m above sea level).

Keep walking on the AV5T up to the small chiesa di Sant’Antonio (Saint Anthony’s Church), where you will find a stairway going down to Biassa. You will cross Biassa and keep walking down the stairway that, crossing multiple times Via Fabio Filzi, will lead you to 150 m above sea level. From here, follow Via Fabio Filzi up to a sharp bend with a quarry on the left. Take the trail in front of you leading you to the first houses of Pegazzano and back to the starting point, as routes 523 and 504 end up in the same square.
