Chiappa - Marinasco - Foce circular route

This circular route starts in Via della Guercia, at the city district called Chiappa (route 222), where there is a widening with a parking lot at the fork with Via Benedicenti. You will take Via della Guercia until it ends paying attention not to enter the private property marked by an open gate. 

Take the stairway to square in front of the Chiesa di Marinasco (Marinasco’s church) and to the AVG (Alta Via del Golfo, or “High Route of the Gulf”) (238 m above sea level). Turn left on the AVG in the direction of Portovenere. You will take the stairway up to the statue of the Virgin Mary and then follow the paved road (Via di Marinasco) leading to Strada Provinciale SP15-1 of Valdurasca. Cross the this road, pass by a widening where there are stacks of wood logs, and, after a short path, you will be back to the Strada Provinciale della Valdurasca. You will follow this road up to the pass of La Foce (234 m above sea level). Here, you will leave the AVG behind and will take Via Genova towards La Spezia. 

Once you have reached a restaurant called “La Gira”, cross the road and take the dead-end road on the right, taking you to route 521. It is a stairway softly going down towards Rebocco on Via Monfalcone and offering charming views. 

You will take Via Monfalcone, turn left, and then take Via della Ghiara. Here, turn left again and reach Piazza de Nobili. Once you have turned left, walk along Via Genova. You will walk through Via Brozzi and reach your starting point. Alternatively, you can keep walking along Via Genova until you cross Via della Guercia.
