San Giorgio Stairway - Spallanzani Stairway circular route

This circular route starts in Via del Torretto, cornet of Via Manzoni. Then, you will have to take the Scalinata San Giorgio (San Giorgio Stairway) to reach Via XXVII Marzo. Here, if you wish, you can take a little detour to visit the Castello San Giorgio (Saint George’s Castle)

The route continues to the right, and you will have to take the Vanicella climb (called Salita Vanicella) on the left. Once you are on Via dei Colli, continue to the left until you find the Scalinata Spallanzani (Spallanzani Stairway). Walk down the stairs and reach Via XX Settembre, which will take you to Scalinata Ettore Spora (Ettore Spora Stairway) and to Vicolo San Giovanni, passing in front of the Chiesa del the Sacro Cuore di Gesù (Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus) and Accademia Cappellini. After the descent, you will arrive to Via del Torretto and, to the left, you will be back at your starting point.
