Boldoni - Castellana circular route

The starting point is at 270 meters above sea level in a sharp bend along the road connecting Le Grazie to the Castellana quarries and it is well recognizable thanks to a stone building used as a water depot.

You will walk along a white path leading to the Castellana quarries and cross the fork with route 514, the so-called “four-road intersection” (or incrocio delle quattro strade, in Italian) at 365 m above sea levels (marked on a Portoro rock).

The whole path offers striking views, but you will reach the best spot when you arrive to the so-called “balcony over the gulf”. Right past this place, you will be walking along the other side of the hill, and you will be enjoying the sight on the beautiful village of Campiglia. Shortly after, the descent begins and, following route 529, you will arrive to the Portoro marble quarries located in an area called Al Piano. You will walk right in front one of these quarries to take route 513 that will lead you back to the starting point, crossing a wood of holm oaks, some pine trees, and the spring of a small stream.
