“Sergio Fregoso” Regional Liguria Media Library

This media library preserves the visual and audio memory of La Spezia and is housed in the former Cinema Odeon (Odeon Cinema).
Inside, it hosts a great audio-visual heritage divided into:
Photography historic archive: cataloging and giving value to the historical photographic heritage of the territory since mid-19th century. This archive promotes collaborations between clients and field experts and organizes photographic exhibitions, exhibition itineraries, educational meetings, and publications;
Sound archive: preserving coils, audio tapes, and CDs of the city sound events, available for mixing and duplication services for purposes of study or research;
Historical local film library and video archive: gathering and preserving documentaries and movies on film on the city, from the beginning of the 20th century to the 70’s. This section also keeps videotapes and DVDs.  Library with newspaper library: it is a space for communication, cinema, photography, and music studies. It is open to the public and offers consultation services on-premise or to borrow.
